People of PROtect: Kaitlyn Ross
Meet Kaitlyn Ross, our Administrative Assistant for PROtect’s Colorado and Texas locations, and our LDAR services.
What is your background/experience in your field?
Before coming to PROtect, I worked as an office manager and accounts manager for a concrete company in Colorado for 6 and half years. In February 2020 I was hired on as an Ops admin for our CO location in Frederick, CO. In May 2021, PROtect opened their Midland, TX location and I moved down here to assist in getting this office up and running. Now I am supporting the NDT Ops managers in CO and Midland, TX as well as the Advanced NDT Ops managers in Houston, TX. Most recently, I have been given the amazing opportunity as admin for our LDAR division.
What do you find is the most important in what you do for the company?
I feel that my support to all my Ops managers and the techs is the most important part of my job. Of course, I make sure the “normal” parts of my job are taken care of, but I have found that when Ops managers know they can come to me with any questions or concerns it makes everything else run smoother. I take pride in the relationships I’ve built, and continue to build, with my Ops managers, the techs, my fellow Ops admins, and my coworkers on the accounting team. Understanding that it’s not one player that makes a company run well, but the team as a whole has to work well together and support each other to become and remain successful.
Why do you think people choose PROtect?
I believe the main reason our customers choose to work with us is because we have a major focus in safety and compliance. As they continue to work with us, our customers also see that all of our techs and assistants are trained very well. We are a company our customers know they can rely on to get the job done correctly the first time, safely, and in a timely fashion.
What do you do when you aren’t at work/what do you do for fun?
Lately when I’m not working, I spend my time exploring my new neighborhood in Midland with my dog, Red. I also have been spending my free time trying all the amazing foods Midland has to offer. During the holidays I travel to visit my granny and old friends in California. When time allows, I visit my sister Ashley, niece Zoey, and nephew Bruin back in Colorado.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up, I always went back and forth between wanting to be a vet or a psychologist/social worker. I love working with animals of all kinds but I’ve also always wanted to help people. I studied psychology in college and towards the end of my college career I became an office manager and realized that this is the path that made the most sense for me and my future.
What is your favorite sports team?
My favorite sport to watch is football and The Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders are my team. My grandparents on both sides always had tickets to the games in Oakland, CA and had been fans since the Raiders became an NFL team in 1960. That loyalty and love for the Raiders was passed down to my parents and from them to me.
Is there anything else you would like people to know about you?
The only thing I would like to add is that no matter your background, where you’ve come from or the adversity you have faced in your life – with a little dedication and hard work you can achieve things beyond your wildest dreams. Never did I think I would be working for such an amazing company with so much growth potential. I feel honored to work with the people I do and I am beyond excited to see where PROtect takes me, and everyone else, in the years to come.
How Can We Help?
Safety, reliability, and compliance obligations can be the difference between a sustainable and profitable business and one that is not.
